Well, you're more creative & optimistic than I am! We're only 6 hrs. into the week & I'm already going stir crazy. We will be staying away from candy since my son behaves like Will Ferrel in "Elf" after eating it. I just had another friend rave about the Elf on the Shelf thing. I'll have to look into it.

I was ready to get our Elf (on the shelf) out at halloween. Dude will certainly be making his appearance Thursday night!

OMG, we totally do Elf on the Shelf too, and he arrives on Thanksgiving night!! The boys named him Lollylolly. And they talk about him all year. Ok, the 5yo does. The 2 year old doesn't know what we're talking about half the time. And I'm totally making those cookies this week. Unfortunately I just finished off the last of the candy corn we had in house last week...emptying the bag directly into my mouth. Classy.

HAHA! Guess what movie my 4 year old watched and LOVED last night? YES, HOME ALONE! I was soooo excited that he loved it, that he got it, that he was laughing along... I saw this movie 3 times in theatres, believe it or not! Haha! It's the best movie for this time of year!

OMG, I'm blaming YOU for the whole "Elf on the Shelf" fiasco we had at our house last year. I thought it sounded like a wonderful tradition, so I searched high, and I searched low for an Elf on the Shelf. When I brought it home to my 4 year old, he at first thought it was kinda cool. He talked to it, but it didn't talk back. He thought that was ok, and that Elfy would bring messages to Santa for him. Then that night, my 4 year old TOTALLY FREAKED OUT, fearing that the Elf would fly into his room that night. He cried and screamed and cried and cried, "Don't let Elfy get near me Mom, ok? I don't want him in my room. What if he flies in my room while I'm sleeping." After a couple failed attempts, Elfy is on the shelf...hidden under many other Christmas decorations...for good...

Good luck on the Home Alone..my princess has been watching it since last year and ever since we MUST watch it a few hundred times a month!! She loves them ALL!! And also Dennis the Menace, yeah then I wonder why she does some of the things she does!? Ugh!! ;)

And because of you we too have the Elf on the Shelf and we love it!So once again, THANKS!!

I think Elfie looks rather cute. Am wondering if we should adopt a tradition like that. It sure sounds like fun! Not sure if they deliver to Australia though...

My kids absolutely LOVE the Elf movie. I bought it on DVD a few years back and they watch it way too often for my liking. LOL.

Those turkey biscuits sure look amazing. We don't have candy corn at all here (that I've ever seen). We don't have Thanksgiving either for that matter. But I do enjoy reading about it on other blogs.

Sounds like a fun week....I'm sure it's gonna be nothing like the summer. We started the Advent fairy last year when my teen was 14...a little behind the tradition starting age. Last year was all about easing our quilt from moving here across the world. She is a pro at quilt now. Have a wonderful week with your cute boys.

Don't sweat this one. It's a known fact among Disney Park employees that playing one of the characters is the worst job in the park. Kids (and surprisingly adults) kick, hit and trip the poor souls with limited visibility.
By the end of the day I'm sure you boy didn't even make the top 10 list of kids that Buzz wanted to backhand.

Son #2 did a full-on, lay on the floor melt-down right in the middle of the Kennedy Space Center when he was 4. No doubt people were looking, thinking we were the worst parents in the world.

There was nothing I could do...except take a picture of his tantrum glory for posterity (and embarassment) purposes. So you are not alone.
